Six Years Old and Growing Up!

Camden's sixth birthday is today.  We had a small little family dinner at Max & Erma's restaurant....love this place!  They serve fresh baked cookies still on the cookie sheet and a bathtub ice cream bar.  Good eatin'!!!  Camden's big birthday party will be on Sunday...an indoor pool party, pizza and cake at our our local gym.  Should be fun for him and his 11 little friends!

My Boutique

My jewelry party went really well last Friday night!  Lots of friends came and had a great time.  I still haven't found out the total sales or what I'm going to get for free/half price.  I'm waiting for my friend (the consultant) to tally everyting up.

Saturday we went to the Irish Festival and ran into quite a few people we know.  I love running into friends at festivals!  It just makes everything so much more fun!!!  We listened to music, ate lunch, I bought some celtic earrings and some handmade soap (I love handmade soap) and Camden got to play in the kiddie area.  They had a bunch of bouncey houses set up. 

Ron and my nextdoor neighbor installed our new oven/range on Saturday afternoon.   It's so nice to have a brand new CLEAN oven!  It makes cooking pleasurable again. 

Sunday I did some yard work, pulling out lots o'weeds out of the big flowerbed out front.   I went thru my summer clothes and found that most of the stuff I purchased last summer is way too big!  Size 10, 8, 6 and 4....TOO BIG!  So, I called my mom and said "Hey, Mamma, come over to my Boutique and try some things on!"  haa ha ha haa!  She came over and tried on everything and took most of it home.  The rest will go to Goodwill.  I am currently in sizes 2 and a couple 0's.  (not that many 0's, though...)  Some 4's still fit, depending on the brand and cut.  It's so weird how every clothing brand's sizes fit differently.

I cannot wait for the warm weather!  It cannot get here fast enough!!!!!

Party Time!

I just realized I hadn't updated all week.  I truly suck! heh heh!  I've had a sinus headache all week and today is the first day I have felt up to writing anything.

Tonight I am hosting a Premier Designs Jewelry Party.  I've been cleaning all day and preparing some yummy snacks.  I fixed:

• Pizza Dip (served bubbly hot with pepparoni and cheese on top) w/crackers

• Crab Tortilla Roll-Ups w/cocktail sauce

• Chips & Salsa

• Chocolate Covered Strawberries

• White-Chocolate Covered Pretzels w/green sprinkles (I made an extra batch of these last weekend and stored them away for tonight)

• Poolside Cherry Pom-arita mixed drinks (tequila, diet 7-Up, lime juice, crystal lite cherry pomagranite drink powder and maraschino cherries for decoration)

• Red & White Wine

My friend is a new consultant and I wanted to help her by hosting a party.  Hope she is successful!!

Tomorrow we are going to the local Irish Festival downtown.  I love this festival!  It's always a great time!!!!! 

I had to get my car inspected today and it ended up costing me $78.  Plus, a ton of other work needs to be done, to the tune of $500.  Uh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I want to get my car in tip top shape, though, for when I have to start driving 40 minutes to work each day....don't want to have a car breaking down.

Sunday Night

I finally finished the decorating in the dining room.  Only thing left is a window treatment and a rug.  I created my own artwork for the walls on either side of my mirror:

This weekend sucked....rain, rain, rain and cold, cold, cold.  I've been scrapbooking, painting, decorating and making white chocolate dipped pretzels, sprinkled with green sugar crystals.  The pretzels are for Camden's kindergarten St. Patty's Day party.

Austin has been gone most of the weekend.  He got his drivers license and has been cruising around in his truck.  I have barely seen him! Right now he's at work..making money to pay for the HIGH DOLLAR car insurance.  Good grief boys are expensive!

Tomorrow my small 6 person office is taking a "field trip" across town to check out our new location.  We are moving offices the first of June.  (Midl0thian reader I'll be working near you).  We're going to check out our new space and then head back over the river for lunch.  I'm still not happy about the move, but I am thankful I have a job. 

Today I had to take Camden to a birthday party.....boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  His birthday is coming up March 26.  I cannot believe he'll be 6 years old.

Yeah, I think I like this.............different than what I normally do.

Working on getting a new spring design on here.....it's a mess right now.

New Dining Room

I am almost finished painting my dining room!  Just need to paint a fresh coat of white paint on the trim.  Then, I need to get some window treatments, a rug and some more decor for the walls.  What do you think?

Our Fabulous Warm Weather Weekend

The weather here in Richmond, VA has been FABULOUS this weekend!  It has been 80 degrees both Saturday and today!  What a wonderful wonderful weekend after last weekend's miserable cold weather! 

Saturday Ron, Camden and I took a drive out to Gordonsville, which is about an hour away.  We went to lunch at a yummy restaurant that is in an old house.  I had a crabcake sandwich and salad and Ron had a roast beef sandwich.  Camden had fries.

 

Then we headed over to Horton Vineyards for tastings, two wine glasses and a tour!

We ended up buying 3 bottles...2 red and 1 white.  I'm currently drinking one of the reds right now.  Mmmm....good!

Today has been very very nice!  I have on shorts.  Woooo!!!!  My skin is pasty white, but I don't care, I'm loving this weather. 

We went to church this morning.  Then, I came home and painted the bottom portion of the walls in the dining room.   The color is not aqua and not teal, but somewhere in the middle.  Some time this week I will paint the top portion above the chair rail, which is a stone color...not gray, not brown, not tan.  I can't wait to see what it's going to look like!  So far I am happy with it.

This afternoon the Weinermobile made its presence at our new Kroger store, so Ron took Camden up there for some fun. Check out the photos.  Hee he hee!!!  Eveverybody loves the Weinermobile!!!

 

 

Busy

We had a snow day today.  I usually don't get snow days, but my office closed.  We have been at each other's throats, though.  This winter has lasted way too long and everybody is on edge.  I'm sending Camden to daycare tomorrow.  School will be out probably thru Wednesday.  That's how we roll here in redneck ville. LOLOL

I spent yesterday and today painting my dining room table.  It was light wood and I was just soooo tired of it!  We can't afford a new dining room set (especially since we just bought a new kitchen set).  I also recovered the seats to the chairs and painted them.  Here's some before & after shots:
