Yesterday at the lake started off very fun and nice. The weather was perfect, the kids were playing in the water, me and my mom and brother were chatting on the beach. Then, around 1:30 pm the unthinkable happened. An 8 year old boy was missing...his parents were frantic. The police were all over the beach on a megaphone calling out his name. They weren't sure if he had been abducted, drowned or just wandered off.
They made all the people get out of the lake and they began the search....combing the water for a body. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen. The busy loud happy beach suddenly came to a deafening silence and calmness, as people watched on, hoping that the child would not show up drowned, but at the same time hoping the child would show up so the parents would know where he was.
An hour later we decided to leave because they weren't letting people back in the water and it was just heartbraking to watch the parents in agony over their son. As I was walking back up to the car with my beach stuff I saw bloodhounds and more police driving in with sirens. A big rescue/search boat was pulling in, as well. The mother of the boy was walking around barefoot in her beach clothes........It broke my heart.
As we left the park, the rangers checked our car. They were checking all the cars. I cannot stop thinking about this. I tried to look it up on the internet...the newspapers for that area, but I cannot find a single thing on it. I need to know what happened. This morning in church during communion meditation, that is what I prayed for. I prayed that those parents know where their baby is tonight.
During the time when they made everybody get out of the water, we took the boys to the snack bar and I took this photo of them. In the background you can see that there is nobody in the water...and people are staring off watching.
That is the saddest thing. I hope the parents find out what happened to their son. I've thought about those parents every since you told me about this.

How very sad, hopefully the boy was found safe and unharmed.
