4th of July Weekend 2009

Happy 4th of July weekend!  What are your plans????

Tonight an old high school friend of mine is having a big ole cajun themed party to celebrate the 4th.  It's down in the country and I'm making that Tex-Mex squash recipe I posted the other day.  Hope it's good.  It's not cajun, but it will be spicy!!!

Saturday, is Austin's birthday.  He'll be 17 years old!  OMG, cannot believe it!  He wants to go out for ribs, so we will be taking him out to a bbq place and then home for homemade chocolate birthday cake.  Mmm.....delish!  I think he may be bringing his girlfriend, too.  They have been friends for a couple years, but just recently have started dating.  I haven't met her yet.

Speaking of dating, he's been staying out very late and so Ron and I had had to set down some curfew rules.  He isn't happy at all.  Give me a break....everybody has a curfew when they are a teenager.  Deal with it!  So, he's mad at me these days, but I don't care.

Well, I am off to my favorite coffee store, as we are out of yummy coffee.  Can't wait to smell the coffee beans!

He will get over being mad. I'm sure the new g/f has to be home at a certain time too. Let me know how the casserole is. I want to make it too. I need to get the things at the store. We will be having a cook out at my house tomrrow and then on sunday we will go to a party. It's pretty low key this year.
