Ron and the little guy are going out of town the first weekend in December.....so, of course, I'm already planning stuff! Haa ha haa! Trying to get a group of girls together for some fun either that Friday night or Saturday. How much fun can I pack into 2 days? A whole heck of a lot! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today was great, as I finally got to go running again! Last week I screwed up my foot and I barely exercised all week. It seems to be better now. I am so happy I got to run today. Um, yeah, and I almost got hit by a FedEx truck. What is it with me and traffic? Geesh!!!!!!!!
Is it just me, or does Sandra Bullock look really awful with blonde hair? I've seen two previews for movies over the past couple months and she has blonde hair in both....I'm not digging that at all. She's a brunette.....undye it Sandra!!!!!!!!!
Happy Halloween!!! We walked down the street to our neighbor's house and had three kinds of chilli, homemade hot bread with butter, all sorts of snacks and desserts! Then we started trick-or-treating! We made sure to hit the house that gives out full size candy bars. Ron got a beer at one house (my cousin's house...she lives in my neighborhood). Camden got some wacky stuff this year...some sort of glow in the dark eyeball thing, a big plastic M&M filled with candy and other assorted stuff.
It was a great night for walking around the neighborhood...the temperature was warm. I enjoyed seeing all of my neighbors and now I am laid up on the sofa about to pass out. Camden is sitting beside me, watching "Corpse Bride" for the 100th time and his eyes are getting tired. *yawn*
Tomorrow the Thanksgiving season begins!!!! Bring on da turkey lurkey!
I went to the gym early this morning to weigh myself....I've lost a pound. Yay! 3 more to go....I hope the other 3 are gone by Thanksgiving so I won't have to stress out. This week has sucked for exercise. I somehow hurt my foot earlier in the week and when I tried to exercise Wednesday night, I couldn't. I missed Tuesday's running because of the crappy weather and yesterday's running because my foot still hurt. Today, I finally got to exercise. It amazes me how depressed I get when I don't exercise. This morning was a good thing.
Not too much going on this weekend, other than Halloween. Oh, and I have some jewlery party thing to go to on Sunday afternoon. That'll break up the boredom of my laundry day. Oh, and I need to do some touch up painting in the bathroom that I painted back in the spring. The cabinet has gotten nicked up in a few places and I want to fix that and then put some sort of clear coat over top to keep it from nicking.
I can't believe November is almost here. This year has gone by so incredibly fast, it kinda of makes me sad. I feel a bit overwhelmed by the thought of the holidays coming. I have ZERO ideas this year for gifts. Usually, I already know what I am buying and have a list. This year, nothing. I usually even have the design of our Christmas card done, but not this year. What a slacker. I hope I can get myself motivated or it's gonna be a last minute effort come late December.
Met an old friend for lunch today......it was fun to catch up. Strange how someone is gone from your life for years and then you pick right back up where you left off....like no time had passed.
Ron and Camden are carving a pumpkin....there's something evil about watching the top of the pumpkin being slashed into and the guts being ripped out and tossed in a bag. I got a sick side....heh heh!!!
I am off to Walmart hell to return an item I purchased last week and to get a birthday present for one of Camden's friends. He's going to his little birthday party tomorrow after school. It's at one of those inflatable places......that should wear him out real good so that he'll fall asleep fast on Friday night!
Missie, if you're reading, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!! I hope your Friday is peaceful and fun!!! Love ya, loozah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A friend of mine has a friend who is in advertising and created this ad.....it hasn't yet been aired on tv....but he wants people to look at it to see what they think. Check it out...
I have been dragging ass today.....I overslept this morning by 15 minutes, which totally threw me off. Plus, it was dark and rainy. Guess I deserve it for staying up too late last night. Hopefully, tonight I will sleep well.
We are going to our neighbor's house Saturday evening for dinner before trick-or-treating with the kids. Usually, they fix 2 or 3 types of chilli, fresh homemade bread with real butter, all sorts of desserts, snacks, etc. We all bring a dish, either to go with the dinner or dessert. I think I am going to fix some more of that pumpkin dip that I made for my party a couple weeks ago. It's soo yummy served with ginger snaps! It is basically canned pumpkin, cream cheese, confectioners sugar, orange juice concentrate, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon. I can eat all of it myself it's so delish!!!
Mmmmm....so yummy!
Gosh, I feel really run down tonight...it must be the darkness. I'm not a fan of darkness. I like long daylight summer evenings. This is going to be a long long winter. I hope I can survive it. I usually get winter depression around January and lasts thru the end of March. Last year wasn't as bad as previous years, so maybe this year will be okay. I really don't want to get depressed. I think I just need to make sure I get plenty of exercise and not hibernate too much....some days I will literally sit all day long in the dead of winter....just because I don't want to go outside.
What a fun weekend this has been!!! It began Friday evening with shopping for a new PC. We went to Staples and I saw a Dell that I liked, but they just couldn't seem to answer all the questions I had about it...plus, my business Staples Rewards card wouldn't allow me any discount, which I thought sucked. So, we went to Dairy Queen and got some ice cream. While we were sitting there I decided to try Best Buy. I'm not a fan of Best Buy at all, but what the hell....so we ran in there and I found the exact same Dell computer for $100 cheaper, plus the 3 year service agreement was cheaper than at Staples. Cha-Ching!!! The dude rang me up and I was on my way home! Yesterday, I spent the entire afternoon playing with my new toy. I actually had both laptops going at once....what a nerd. Anyway, I transferred everything over to the new one, shut down the old one and put it in a storage place....I'm a little sentimental about giving up computers, so I'll probably hang onto it...just in case.
Yesterday morning Camden had a soccer game and then after that we headed to his school's annual Fall Festival. They have been doing this fall festival since I went to school there back in the 70's. This is a tradition that the community looks forward to each year. It was fun and Camden had a good time.....but I was worn out afterwards. Later on around 5 pm we headed to our church for yet another fall festival. My mom was there, so we ditched Camden around 6:30 pm (he spent the night at her house) and we headed downtown to a fun restaurant/music hall to eat dinner and listen to a small local band that was having their "FINAL Show". I guess they are breaking up, but we had a kick ass good time last night!!! As usual, I stood the entire time front of the stage. I'm such a dork....but I love the energy from being up there!!!!!
We ran into a old friend of Ron's, whom he hadn't seen in years and the two of them walked off together to the restaurant side of the establishment...leaving me all alone at the stage...of course, I love it this way! hee hee hee!!!!
Photos are uber blurry.....I used my cell phone....
It was a fun time! They played a long time with no breaks!!!!!
Today I think I'm going to run over to the scrapbook store and get some supplies. I'm ready to dive into my scrapping!!!!
OMG, this video is hilarious....I forgot about it til I started thinking about it the other day. It's from JJ Grey & Mofro (one of my favorite bands). I love this song "She's On Fire", but the video speaks for itself! Bwaah aha ha h haa!!!! I was supposed to go down to Virginia Beach on Tuesday to see them perform, but I think they canceled the show. The sleezy bouncer dude in this video is priceless!!!
I finally got around to changing the design of my blog over to a fall design. That other one I had was a template and it sucked. I hate templates. This one isn't professional or anything, but at least it's mine. Camden was in a tree at the apple orchard...thought this would be cute for a fall banner.
Windows 7 is now out and I am in desperate need of a new laptop. I'm not sure if I want to buy one yet, or not......I don't want to deal with a bunch of bugs, problems, issues. How long should I wait? Knowing me, I'll end up waiting another 6 months. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next week I am making "pumpkin enchiladas" for dinner one night....sounds crazy, no? Can't wait to taste it!
I think I'm going to get back into my scrapbooking. I haven't done it in months and I really need some sort of outlet. I quit doing it because I felt like I had no more creative ideas...I kept repeating the same old designs, just different colors, patterns, etc. It was boring me....
Anyway, my photos are starting to pile up....from summer to current and I really need to get them printed and scrapbooked, before I forget what happened at each event. Heh....
I just got home from running......trying really hard to get back to the 6 day a week exercise routine. I have gained 4 lbs since February (yeah, I know...February was a long time ago), but it bugs me and so I am back to my hard core calorie counting....yeah it sucks to be so strict, but I get a thrill out of the control I have over my eating habits. I'll probably lose this 4 lbs in less than a month....I hope to anyway.
Ron and Camden hung up some Halloween lights last night on the porch. They hung some skull thingys in the trees, too. We still haven't gotten any pumpkins....we are slow going this year. Camden was supposed to go to the pumpkin patch last Friday with his school class, but it got canceled due to rain. So, they are going on the 30th. That's cutting it a little close to Halloween. We may have to go buy a pumpkin in advance.
Well, I need to run.....lots going on tonight...Camden has soccer practice and a little awards ceremony for Cub Scouts. The fun never ends.
I was in desperate need of a new winter coat. My current coat is beautiful....red, wool, perfect length and style. However, it is a size Large, and I am not. I needed a size Small. I tried wearing it last winter and the air would whip up underneath my coat and freeze my buns off! So, as much as I hate to quit wearing it, it has to be done.
Today, I went to the mall and found another awesome red wool coat! Yay me! It's this coat, only in red!!!
I'm happy that the coat search is over with. I hate shopping for winter coats. It was on sale, plus the saleslady gave me another discount. Love a bargain!!!!!
Today has ben church, laundry and I took my mom to the grocery store. She had surgery on both her feet last week and it's taking a while for her to recover....I had to help her get groceries while she wheeled around and told me what to get. She's getting tired of being "out of commission". I'm sure she can't wait til she's mobile again.
